The long run (about 80') for the recirculating hot water is consuming about 10kWh / day.  That's about $18 / month.  This huge waste of energy is due to the heat loss of the water pipes, even though they are insulated.   I do have a timer, but it's only off between 1:00PM - 5:00AM.

I am considering a second water heater at the far end of the home.  I do have the home wired for manual switches to "one-shot" the circ pump.
