The USGS Western Ecological Research Center is evaluating satellite telemetry as a method to study band-tailed pigeon movements.
On August 1, 2007 they came to our home to trap some. The photos below tell the story:
They captured the heaviest pigeon so far at our home. I'm not surprised given the amount of bird seed consumed here.
